This type of peony is called Scarlet O’Hara for its deep red/maroon color. When printed in black and white, the red peony is transformed into a deep black. The raindrops, or "tears" are hand painted with acrylic Tar Gel to give the them a realistic convex/bubble look and feel to the touch – the rain droplets stand off the photograph. The photograph has an authentic hint of a 1940′s era old Hollywood style.
